Guyana International Conference Centre (GICC) is aided by the Chinese Government to the Guyana Government. It is based on The Exchange of Notes and the Agreements on the Economic and Technical Cooperation between the Government of Republic of Guyana and the Government of the People¡¯s Republic of China from year 1998 to 2003. It will stand for the friendship between people of the two countries and will become a beautiful landscape of Georgetown.

Project Scope and Construction Content: The total site area is 49,252 square meters; the total building area is 3,619 square meters. The Project is composed of three parts, which are square, main building and parking area. The main building is two-storied, with a height of 18 meters. It consists of the conference hall with the seating capacity of 372 and rooms for meeting, training, banquet and office as integrity. The structure type of the main building is cast-in-situ reinforced concrete frames with pile foundation, the design life being 50 years. It will meet not only the practical requirements of ventilation and shading, but also will be equipped with sound reinforcement and simultaneous interpretation system and newly-developed sound isolation materials, which would meet the special requirement of being a conference center. High quality aluminum board and glass curtain wall are used as exterior decoration. The road and square area is 17,683 square meters and the total parking bay capacity is 180 cars.
Contract Price: 42,000,000 Chinese Yuan (i.e. approximately 5,066,345 USD).
Construction Period: The Project will be completed in 14 months.
