The Third Bridge From Macao to Taipa
This project is the third bridge from Macao to Taipa, for which the bidding for sole contractor for design and construction was invited. The employer of this project is the government of Macao Special Administration Region and the Contract with total value of 560 million Macao Yuan was signed on September 2002. The construction was commenced on October 8,2002 and completed on December 2004.
This is a concrete cable stayed bridge with total length of 1825m. The main span of the bridge is 110m + 180m +110m and the span of the approach 60m. There are two main towers with each height of 85m and the bridge deck above is 48m in height.
All beams of the bridge are box structure, and the bridge is divided into two parts of upper and lower for traffic. The upper is 2-way 6-lane, and the lower is 2-way 4-lane in the near future and 2-way light railway and 2-way 2-lane in the long future.
The bridge has been equipped with brainpower control systems for fire protection, traffic and safety, and also with lighting system for sightseeing.
